HOW DO WE DO IT?

NO-FRILLS

You need a space, we got it. You need privacy, we got it. How about a centralized location, okay, we have that too. Need seamless paper, that's available. How about strobes and modifiers, no prob. When we say no-frills, it's just that. A space that allows you to work, be creative, and all without breaking the bank.

COST-EFFECTIVE

Most studios in the Houston Downtown area average at $75 per hour, we give you up to 3-hours for $100. By eliminating things you don't need, you can focus on what you do need. When you need to take a break, grab some food, use the restroom, there are 3-4 awesome local businesses within a 5-minute walk.

NEW YORK STYLE

What is a New York Style Studio? From all my years shooting in New York, the one thing I learned was how to work in an intimate space. MYSTUDIO HTX is just that, a small intimate space. Sometimes you don't need a huge studio, dressing room or bathroom -- you just need a place to shoot without the huge cost.

THE FAQs

— WHERE IS MYSTUDIO HTX LOCATED?
MYSTUDIO HTX is in East Downtown, about 1/2 a mile from Shell Energy Stadium and a 1 mile from Minute Maid Park and Downtown Houston. It's in the historic 2nd ward neighborhood, now gaining traction as the "The Plant".
— WHY THE PLANT?
Because at 3900 Harrisburg Blvd. on 18 acres sits a 1-million-square-foot facility, which has long been a landmark in the Second Ward. Ford built the original brick and concrete building in 1913 for its Model T assembly plant. In 1946, Maxwell House, owned by General Foods and later Kraft Foods, moved into the facility. Jay's dad, Jaime Sr. actually retired from Maxwell House after 43+ years. So yeah, born in the neighborhood and proud to be giving back.
— ARE YOU A FULL-FLEDGED STUDIO?
Yes and no. MYSTUDIO HTX provides everything needed for a photographer or creative to work. It DOES NOT have extra amenities such as dressing rooms or a bathroom. This is how such an affordable rate can be offered. No worries though, when a break is needed, whether for food, coffee or simply the restroom. Countless awesome local businesses are within a 5-minute walk. Check below for suggestions and recommendations.
DO YOU OFFER FOOD?
No we do not, we're a photography studio. But we can tell you that Champ Burger 2 blocks away has the BEST burgers bar none. They've been there over 60 years now and are a Houston staple. Tell Chris, Jay Marroquin sent you.
DO YOU HAVE A CHANGING ROOM AND BATHROOM?
No, this is a personal working space that is now being offered to the public for rent. By not including these amenities, you get killer rates and a great space to create. As mentioned before though, check the list below for fantastic places nearby when you need a break.
SO WHERE CAN WE CHANGE?
While we do not offer a changing room, a portable changing booth is available for use in studio and is perfect for when a model/actor needs some privacy for a change of clothes.
